Caruso Molecular Hair Setter

My children, L O V E commercials. They especially love Infomercials. If I have TIVOd a movie, they don't want to fast forward through the commercials, they beg to watch the commercials. I, on the other hand, think the TIVO/DVR is the best invention EVER and do not watch anything that hasn't been recorded previously.

I haven't quite managed to convince them that the commercial is invented to make you buy something and that it may not be quite as good as it looks. Like for example, the Caruso Molecular Hair Setter which I saw on an infomercial in high school and I wanted that thing so bad. It said it would give you curly hair and not damage your hair and the curls would last for days. This was the 80s. I wanted curly hair BAD. I saved my babysitting money and waited anxiously for it to arrive in the mail and was crushed with disappointment when it did not work as promised. How can curls last for days when you hair is as straight as an arrow?!

Anyway, now the children are desirous of the infamous Snuggie (mom, it's a blanket with sleeves, you can watch TV or read a book), Space Bags (we have dirt, we have water, we could use those), and Bendaroos (you can use them in a car or at a restaurant!). They have the pitches memorized. Mark is the biggest softie, he actually ordered the Bendaroos and we played with them for the first time yesterday. While they seem to be safe to use on windows - they make your windows super sticky and dirty. They are like super thick waxed dental floss. The children, however, thought they were the best thing ever, so my quest to educate them about the power of a commercial has not worked yet... Mark bought the product, they loved the product - what's wrong with that?!!

I hope Elizabeth never wants curly hair.

My, but Elizabeth looks just like I remember you when you were a little girl, Joanne. I haven't heard from your Mum since about September, despite sending several emails. We got a card at Christmas so at least know that everything is alright but please ask her to get in touch so we can catch up.
All the best and I hope your family are all okay.
Would love to hear from you too, though I do read your blogs from time-to-time.

This is my third attempt, but should be sorted now! Not on top of new technology yet!
