Trousers

Miles has needed new trousers since about Christmas. He has been continuing to wear ones that are too short since then. I don't know what's wrong with me, why I haven't bought any sooner than this. I guess I keep hoping it will warm up so he can just go back to shorts. So I went to my favorite chic French store Tarjay to purchase a couple of pairs of trousers. They didn't have a lot to choose from, so I only bought one pair. But the funny part of the story was that for some reason he needed to wear the new ones before we went to get Elizabeth (I think they got wet or something). She finishes school at 3pm. Of course, it had started to rain at 2:50pm so we drove. We got the umbrellas out and walked down to get her. While we waited in the rain for her to come out, Miles of course is running around like usual. But it's a tiny bit wet out and the grass is a tiny bit slippery. So, he has the new trousers, that look smashing, on for literally 5 minutes and he falls in the mud. 5 MINUTES! MUD!

I just want to remember this little gem of hilarity - with new muddy trousers and a SpiderMan umbrella and running around while we wait for Elizabeth to come out of school. We will look back on this and think - those were the days.
